  • Many people feel a dull ache or tingling sensation around the insertion of the needle but don’t feel anything after the needles have been inserted. Most people end up becoming extremely relaxed and fall asleep.

  • Acupuncture is the insertion of single- used disposable filliform needles inserted throughout the body for ᴛʜᴇʀᴀᴘᴇᴜᴛɪᴄ and ᴘʀᴇᴠᴇɴᴛᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ purposes.

On a physiological level - acupuncture needles stimulate nerves, muscles + connective tissues. This signals the nervous system and the brain to release endorphins (our feel- good hormones) which aid in pain relief.

  • You will receive intake forms to fill out prior to your appointment, please have these already completed prior to your appointment so we don’t have to cut into your treatment time. When you arrive we will review your intake forms and have a conversation about your main concerns and health goals. After we have finished the consult you will undress to your comfort level and make your self comfortable under the sheets on the table. You will have needles in for 20-40 minutes depending on your condition. Most people have a nap during this time. We may also do cupping, electrostimulation, moxibustion or auricular acupuncture during this time as well.

  • Acupuncture is accumulative, meaning each treatment builds on its self. Generally we say a week for every month you have had your condition, although every ones constitution is unique. At first treatments are more frequent until lasting changes are made then appointments become more spaced out. Chronic conditions are spaced out over a longer period of time while acute conditions are more frequent treatments in a shorter period of time.

  • Initial acupuncture sessions are 60-75 minutes.
Follow Up sessions are 45 - 60 minutes.
